What I dislike most about Microsoft OneDrive for Business is its sometimes slow syncing speed, especially with large files or extensive folders.

What differentiates Microsoft OneDrive for Business from other similar products?

If I compare it to Google Drive for example, the main differentiator is the interoperability with the rest of the Microsoft platform. I can use data and files from OneDrive with PA Flows, Power BI reporting, Teams incorporation, etc. This is possible but far more difficult outside of the Microsoft ecosystem.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The ability to share and link into other documents. As a developer and Data engineer I often need to be able to feed user criteria into solutions designs and this made far simpler when you can connect data through OneDrive.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Some features you would like to see do not exist and its ability to work with products outside of the Microsoft ecosystem can be spotty. Example: I can connect data from OneDrive to Tableau, but I also use a separate authentication for this. This can cause the need to re-authenticate connections regularly and limits the value I get from automating some of these functions.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you need a storage site, a way to connect to your data from multiple entry points, interoperability, and ease of implementation, it is second to none. If you are looking for out of the box customizability and a unique experience, this will not give it to you without some solid IT expertise and infrastructure.

1. Easy and seamless integrations or collaboration across apps like Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft word, and excel. 2. Real time Collaboration feature enables multiple users to work on the same document simultaneously. 3. Enterprise level security and encryptions and robust access control ensue the data is protected. 4. Integration with power Automate and PowerApps allow users to create workflows or custom applications that can interact directly with OneDrive files. 5. Advanced Sharing permission which has control over who can view, edit, or share files which internally and externally.

What do you dislike most about this product?

1. Offline Access control limitation which how long files remains accessible offline would be a concern. 2. Some of advanced and useful features and settings are hidden in the admin setting which the controls are not easily accessible. 3. OneDrive lacks a dedicated feature to easily request files from external users. 4. External sharing permission can be confusing and requires more attention to avoid accidental access.

1. Test the offline Access to how the OneDrive handles offline access and syncing. 2, If the business organization having repetitive task, then test integrating OneDrive with power Automate to create custom workflows. 3. Use the advantage of real time document collaboration feature to enhance the productivity of the organization. 4.Leverage the Microsoft 365 integrations by make use of the apps like SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Microsoft office app and all.
