For departments like mine, where agile processes is our bread and butter, Gitlab's integrated agile and portfolio planning sets it apart from other Git software platforms. Having agile and portfolio planning integrated within Gitlab has helped us to adopt a standard template for streamlining internal software development workflow, and made it straight-forward tracking our work processes from ideation to eventual software product deployment.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Gitlab's Continuous integration infrastructure ( Ci ) are the best of any Git platform I have used. Gitlab has helped my department to embrace the automation of CI processes. Leading to more efficient verification ,integration and automated testing of our codes.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Due to the avalanche of features available on Gitlab, it can get very complex to navigate or use for new users. I am of the opinion that support for users can be more readily available without my department needing to have to create its own dedicated support resource for employees, which is currently the case for us at my organisation.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

From my own professional experience, I can say that adopting a platform like Gitlab can really go a long way towards helping a development team / department to cut down on development time and cost.

Issues can be managed, and people in various positions (developers and managers, etc.) can discuss on the spot. Progress management is easy when using Kanban. Thanks to the issue management feature, it's easy to leave a trail of what everyone has talked about the problem. It helps align release dates.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It is very convenient that it automatically manages highlights, favorite functions and program review history. In addition, it is easy to use other people's programs, and it is easy to create new programs using those programs. Easy to manage the modification history of programs and check the content of modifications. With GitLab Ultimate differences between programs can be seen at a glance, making verifying and preventing omissions easy. Program management is easy with the feature that the program is not merged unless the committee approves it.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Using it for the first time requires a certain amount of knowledge and some obstacles. Also, if you use other people's programs too much, there are many cases where other people's schedules are suddenly updated, and your program is affected.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Contribute to program quality through source code management. Tasks can be managed with Kanban using projects. It is easy to use other people's programs, and it is easy to create new programs using those programs. Team code sharing is also done on GitLab Ultimate, anyone can create a working program. To some extent, simply by cloning. We make it available as a tool. Initially, program correction confirmation was confirmed simply by visually comparing the previous and current programs. In that case, confirmation skipping, etc., will also occur.

Nothing, I have not encountered any major issues or drawbacks in using GitLab Ultimate.

My advice to someone considering GitLab Ultimate would be to thoroughly evaluate their specific needs and requirements for software development and collaboration. They should also take advantage of the free trial offered by GitLab to fully test and explore the platform's capabilities.
