What differentiates Amazon Redshift from other similar products?
Integration with the AWS ecosystem provides wide variety of features for Amazon red shift to utilise the features of AWS along with the Red shift.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Columnar storage and massive parallel processing helps the Data Engineers to analyse and transform the data according to the user requirements in much faster way.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Cost control and limited support for Semi structured data. While Redshift can be cost-effective, users have reported difficulties in managing costs effectively when dealing with large datasets and frequent queries. Redshift charges for data storage, compute resources, and data transfer, and without proper optimization, costs can escalate quickly. Redshift is primarily designed for structured, relational data. While Redshift Spectrum allows querying semi-structured data like JSON in S3, the native handling of semi-structured data isn鈥檛 as flexible or efficient as competing products like Snowflake or Google BigQuery.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Adding support for the semi structured data gives a great advantage for Amazon redshift whe using complex data and also cost control can be useful as the different costing for storage and querying can escalate the cost to greater extent.
