What differentiates TeamDynamix Sassafras from other similar products?

Sassafras AllSight goes beyond basic inventory by combining detailed hardware/software tracking with licensing and usage analytics, making it a solid choice for environments with compliance and auditing needs. I haven't seen another product with this depth. It's ability to reveal true utilization of devices and software is outstanding. The license can effectively pay for itself once you see the insights it provides.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The depth of data it collects is excellent and having API access adds significant value, enabling automation, custom reporting and seamless integration with systems like SCCM, ticketing platforms, etc.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The groups and roles system feels a little outdated. It's functional but managing user permissions isn't as intuitive or streamlined as I think it could be.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Spend the time to implement it properly - that's absolutely key. This is our second time using Sassafras in our estate. We first had Sassafras AllSight in 2019 but we didn't dedicate the time or effort needed, so it fell by the wayside, especially as the pandemic hit. We revisited it in 2024 and this time we've taken the time to implement it properly, with the amazing support from Sassafras. It's still a work in progress, but even now we're seeing clear benefits. If you don't put in the time at the start, you won't see the value - but if you do, it's an incredibly powerful tool that can significantly improve visibility and efficiency.

Hands down the stellar customer service.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Favorite aspect - it's a data goldmine of information about my organization's hardware and software assets.

What do you dislike most about this product?

There are some features available only in KeyConfigure, so I have to work in both KeyConfigure (desktop administrator client) and AllSight (online portal).

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

While the initial buy in might have some sticker shock, buying perpetual entitlements is what has worked best for my organization.
