ADF is tightly woven into the Azure platform鈥攐ffering seamless, native connectivity to Blob Storage, Synapse, Databricks, Key Vault, ADLS, and more. This makes it a natural choice for Azure-first organizations .
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I like Azure Data Factory's objects maintenance to use in future pipelines. Linked Services, Integration Runtime, Datasets, and Data Flows are very helpful to maintain in single place and can be reused in other pipelines.
What do you dislike most about this product?
ADF鈥檚 verbose and clunky GUI, especially in complex workflows, makes even basic tasks feel tedious and frustrating compared to code-centered tools.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Leverage Modular, Parameterized Pipelines with Built鈥慽n Retry Logic and Tight Cost Controls 鈥 design reusable components, configure retries/timeouts, monitor resource use and API call frequency, and enforce naming standards to optimize performance and budgeting.
