Effective November 1, 2025, Microsoft will eliminate all volume-based pricing tiers (A-D) for cloud licenses under enterprise agreements (EA), setting prices to the published Level A price. This abrupt change disproportionately impacts large customers, raising costs by 6% to 12% or more, with additional Unified Support price hikes as a consequence. The short 2.5-month notice period leaves customers little time to prepare financially. While similar pricing rollbacks have been reversed in the past, this move appears rooted in Microsoft’s need to offset massive AI infrastructure investments. Customers are urged to accelerate renewals, reoptimize licenses, and escalate concerns to Microsoft leadership to seek relief.
